Apple & Custard Slice

Ingredients

-1 roll of Puff Pastry.
-200g Custard.
-1 Jar Apple Sauce.
-100g Sugar.
-2 Eggs.

Method

-Firstly, place your custard and Applesauce into separate piping bags for easy application.
-Then cut out two rectangles puff pastry Any size you would like, just make sure they’re the same, squeeze some custard and Applesauce onto the bottom layer of the pastry, making sure there is a decent border around the outside in order for the pastry to be sealed properly.
-crimp together, the edges carefully with a fork, then cut off the excess and egg wash with one egg and one egg yolk beaten.
-I eggwash twice giving the pastry about half an hour to rest in the fridge in order for the egg wash to set in between glazes to make it super shiny.
-Finish with caster sugar sprinkled all over the top cut some scores in the pastry. This is optional. and bake in 175° oven for 15 to 20 minutes depending on the performance of your oven.
-leave to call for around five minutes, then enjoy with a jug of custard.
